Well anyone who has seen my front bumper lately knows it was a little bit of a mess (as well as front passenger wing) due to overtaking 3 gritters a night on the motorway through the winter,
Decided on attacking it myself with a few spray tins yesterday. Doesnt help not having a decent place to spray and having no experience in spraying large parts.
So.....next week at brooklands no laughjing at the drips alll over the front, lol. Will get sorted hopefully over the summer when I get a little extra money to do so. In the meantime its drips are us for a couple of quid.

Wimmy it can't look as bad as that idiot who painted their alloys with Garage Door Paint ;)

Tommy K - Have you got the Bottle!!

the idiot bein you by any chance, Tommy, jusyt kiddin mate,

Wim- next time your sort up towards my way, ish give me a shout i`ve had plenty of experience with sprayin bits, eg, mirrors, wings and base plates(oops, the guide that reminds me, damn knew there was somethin),
its been mainly from usin spray cans, and the use of my parents garage :)

BRAVO, why settle for anything less.

re

i dont think you'd ever match a compressor finish with spray cans, but i think you were probably better off putting too much on and havgin some runs than having too little paint on.

i dontknow if someone could polish out the runs to make them a little better for now?

or is it runs in the paint now been laquered over?

Allan - bit of both unfortunately. I will get it sorted in the future tho somehow.
Cheers Rob but I can manage the smaller bits with no probs. My base plates done and dont forget all the interior of my car :)
Cheers Tommy. Luckily I used a spray tin rather than Dulux and a brush :)

ha you all laughed at my body kit when i did them my self but i had no runs what so ever! just couldnt get a perfect shine

What are you actually laughing at R45C4L? Is there a point to you laughing at me laughing at myself?

I'm missing your point here?

what?.... wimmy that post you made with the 6 rules.. read them and the one about calming down and re-reading a post as it may be mis read etc.... read that then read my post. i was just sayin you all laughed at me for my attempt but i made no runs and that now you can see its not easy to get a good finish using cans... nothing laughing at YOU just saying 'ha' so you know its a joke... because u cant see the sarcastic expression on some ones face while they type...

From what I can tell Wimmy's 'can job' was a stop-gap measure before he forks out on a proper re-spray. Am I wrong?

Anyway, I can well imagine it being difficult to stop runs using a can, so I commend you on your effort there.

Well done Wimmy for even trying to get a good spray job with cans
You can all laugh at my front bumper if you like as all the lacquer is peeling off it and it looks a right mess.
I'm not even going to try to fix it i'm just saving up for the full respray. ;)

your spraying it on too thick if your getting runs wim, Patience and thin coats are the key ;)
