One-Touch Windows - Reset

My 1997 Bravo TD100 should have one-touch electric windows but the feature doesn't seem to work. Reading through some newsgroups aout other cars it would appear that disconnecting he battery can cause the position senors to loose track of the window position / height and that the sensor could be reset by holding the window button up or down for a certain length of time. Does anybody know if this is the case for the Bravo and if so what needs to be done to reset the sensors?

Cheers,
Andy

I have a similar problem, passenger window will not one-touch close. Please let me know if you fix it this way.

Re: Re: One-Touch Windows - Reset

oddly, the passenger window isnt meant to one touch close! It one touch opens, and the drivers one touch closes, but not the passenger!

Same on alfas!!!

How does one-touch window opening and closing work anyway, since I can't figure it out?

Re: Re: One-Touch Windows - Reset

one touch windows operate by fully closing or opening with a push of the drivers window button it can be stopped by pressing the botton again

Don't suppose there's any way of fitting one-touch windows to a car without them?

Also my windows are well slow, they take about 30seconds to wind up!! Is this common?
Any way of speeding them up?!

Windows on my car are also very slow (in both direction), esspecially when it's cold outside.
I've tried putting some oil on the system, but it didn't work.
I assume this is normally for most of the Bravo's. If anyone managed to fix this problem, tell us how.

Runners

Clean your runners out thoroughly using hot water and car cleaning shampoo. Do this carefully with a brush with long bristles (it might be a good idea to cover your seat or trap a towel in the door to prevent splashes.

Once it had dried spray some silicone lubricant in the runners. This stuff will leave a white film so be careful to spray in the runners using the small tube that comes with the can.

Allow to dry then try the windows out, they should be a lot smoother. If not then its door panel off (see the Bravo-guide) and check the greasing of the inner mechanism.

Using this method I can now get the windows on my Jag up in under 5 minutes!!!

Re: Runners

Hi Nige

I`m going to give my age away now! The age old clean cure for binding glass is french chalk in the runners (Remember the stuff you sprinkled on your bike innertube after mending a puncture?)
