Oil on top of spark plugs, should i be concerned?

Ok I've just removed my rocker cover so i can send it away to be polished (Mk1 HGT).

On removing the rocker cover and looking down into the deep spark plug wells there seems to be some oil leaking down the sides of the wells and the tops of 3 out of the 5 spark plugs seem to be sat a a very small puddle of oil.

Am I right in saying this isn't good?
Or is it suppost to be there to sort of grease them?

At the top of the spark plug wells there are 5 rubber seals (which i'll get onto Fiat to get replacements for when I re-fit the rocker cover), but is there anything else I should know, be concerned about?
Do I need to clean out the oil thats already in the wells, on the spark plugs?

Seals ALWAYS leak... fact of life. I wouldn't worry. Better than having water there!

Not very clear, but this is where the oil seems to be leaking in, around the black rubber seals.

Probably worth just getting some kitchen paper and sopping up what you can. Other than that it does stop the plugs corroding into the head so just leave it.

I hope you ain't running the engine like that. ;)

You should really replace the seals and rocker cover gasket every time you take it off, as they are meant only to be compressed the once.

Re: Seals

Yeah it's ok, i've ordered new ones from Fiat already.
I've not got the rocker cover back yet, so I'll not be re-fitting it until Thurs/Friday.
