Hi everyone.

I have an oil leak on my 20V Turbo LE and it seems to be coming from the oil filter housing or around that area.
On my last 20V Turbo I had the same leak and never sorted it cos the car got part exchanged before I fixed it and so I never found out where the oil was coming from.

All can say is that it seems to be coming from where the oil filter is and is running down the huge lump of aluminium that carries the aircon pump but I can't see where its leaking from.

Any ideas??

Thanks

Dave.:bang:

You sure it isn't coming from the top of the engine cover and leaking down? The usually get the cam cover cracked due to over tightening of the screws. You really need to pinpoint the cause of the leak. Clean it up and do some investigation, if possible on axle stands and with a torch (inspection lamp would be best).

On my last Coupe I did a total top end rebuild and the leak was still there after I'd finished although I never investigated it. (Doh!!!) I must admit I haven't checked whether the oil is running down fron the top but I haven't noticed it when checking around the engine bay.

I'll take a look.

Thanks

Dave

What the oil filter screws to is itself as you say a filter housing which is bolted on.

here is a diagram, it shows the filter housing including oil cooler pipes.
Note the O ring listed as number 10, I think this is a known cause.
