Owner handbook , last edition 11 2009:
"Oils for diesel engines - Synthetic-based oils, grade SAE 5W-30
FIAT 9.55535-S1 qualification.
For diesel engines, in emergency cases where genuine products are not available, lubricants with min. performance ACEA C2 are
accepted. If this is the case, the best engine performance is guaranteed. We however recommend replacing the lubricant with those
recommended by Fiat Dealership.
The use of products with inferior characteristics compared to ACEA C2 could cause damage, not covered by the
guarantee, to the engine."
Ive changed the oil in my 1.9 Grande punto twice using Halfords oil. Comma supply Halfords with the oil and they just label it as theres. So decent enough oil.
Its well priced if you have a trade card with them!![]()
get yourself one of our trade cardsthe spec for the oil will be in your handbook
I would pay a visit to a local motorfactors rather than halfords as they are usually much cheaper
I paid £15 for 5 ltrs of Comma oil (which complied with Fiat spec in my GP handbook)
where as in halfords i am looking at £15 for 2 ltrs

Had a scroll through my handbook over the weekend and finially found something that looked very generic referring to which type of oil should be used it said the following for diesel engines: -
SAE 5W-40 Fiat 9.55535-n2
Is that right?
Thanks
