Fiat Ducato 2.3 2012, full service done 25/02/25 only done 2700 miles since! Should I really be looking at an oil/filter change?

Thanks Ronnie

My thoughts are, dip the oil, if it looks dark and possibly smells pungent then change it and the filter. I appreciate diesels tend to "dirty" their oil quicker so use your judgement, however even if you only do low mileage possibly most of that is at slow speeds so engine doesn't get fully warmed up to get rid of the acids and condensation that cold engines make.
If the overall mileage is low from new then possibly less engine/piston blow by so less carbon getting into the oil.
I rebuilt a Fiat Ducato 2.8 engine and put it in a boat, it was used regularly all year round and once fully warmed up driven hard, I changed the oil once a year over the four years I used it and as the engine was rebuilt there was very little contamination so the old oil almost looked like new cooking oil in colour.
Your engine , your choice but remember that oil is all that keeps your engine running, engines will run for some time with neglect , but it does shorten that time!
Before retiring I had many older customers who did less than a 1000 miles a year, but they always knew the value of a service and oil change annually.

I did dip the oil recently and it looked very clean not black at all, I think I will change it before the end of the summer, will need to look up what's best suited to the engine, I have used valvoline for most of my vehicles in the past, thanks for the info @bugsymike

Brand names are good as long as that is what is delivered. Re oil, specification is critical depending on what engine and emission systems etc. so check your handbook spec.
Also sometimes "bundles" are not always best value so again check price of individual items to compare.:)

Thanks, yes I looked at separate but you need to buy a 5L then a 1L often the 1L is over 20 quid! would often go for Valvoline or Fuchs in the past

I have often found a middle of the road brand with the correct spec. in 20 litre containers can be much better value if keeping a vehicle.
Oil has gone up tremendously over the years, I used to buy 203 litre drums of synthetic 15/40 for £100 before I retired. Now manufacturers have designated special requirements/spec. resulting in price hikes.:(
I can see the logic of low ash oils for DPF systems etc.
