Technical Oil Capacity

Hi,

I have a Weekend 1.9 JTD (2002). Hubby is just doing an oil & filter change and we appear to 'misplaced / packed' the service book!
Can someone please tell me how much oil he needs?

Can't remember exactly but from memory am pretty sure it is less than five litres. If you buy a five litre container just put in three litres then add it bit by bit, checking the dipstick as you go. Buying it that way is probably going to be cheaper and any left over will come in handy for top ups.
I am sure you know but remember that the oil filter will take an extra amount after the engine us run so remember to top up afterwards.

I have just found this site and scrolling down it gives the capacity of the 1.9td as 4.9 Litres....so hubby has put in 0.1 litres too much expecting the engine to hold over 5 Litres of oil ...LOL

That will be fine, a little over the top will not be a problem
