Thought the gap was wide enough, it wasn't...

Caught a mini's black plastic rear wheel arch trim & wheel!

Was in shock so passed on my details to the other cross driver, however...forgot to get his..

He drove off and then I looked at my car... the whole side is damaged, driver's door all the way to the rear end!!

I'm really upset and really concerned about what to expect next??

I really wished I'd got his details incl phone number, then I'd probably call him and asked him if I could could fork out for the repair. The only damage to his car is rear wheel arch trim and bit of paint from his rear wheel.

Trim - fairly cheap?
Wheel - refurbed to order - fairly cheap?

I haven't approached my insurance company.

I have fully comp with protected NCB.

What are you're thoughts on what I should do now - if there's anything I can do....?

he will claim anyway unless he wasn't legal, so claim for your car too. do you have a low excess?

Have been thinking along these lines too, if I'm going to get penalized by his insurance claim, then I should possibly claim on mine for my damage also, thing is though if the claim value increases by my claim, the higher the value the more I'll feel the repercussions when I come to renew??

Is that how it works, even though I have insurance with protected NCB, it'll still effects by renewal fee - if they'll take me on again next year?

What are your thoughts?

Jon
