The air in-take is going to the air-box/intake for the heater. This is 1) To add a slight ram-air effect, turn your fans off at 70mph and feel the force of air coming through the heater vents !!! 2) With this being a rally car i need to put the air in-take out of the way to stop water getting into the engine.

After the grass autotest i did in her yesterday i had to clear out some grass from the air filter but nothing much. I have in the past put some mesh over the opening in the heater air-take (plastic grill) to stop leaves etc getting in.

No real noticeable increase in power, but when you open up the vents you do hear some induction 'roar', which is nice :)

As i said its mainly to stop water getting into the engine.
