As I was waiting for the uprated clutch to arrive the other day, I noticed a patch of rust on the passengers floorpan by the rear door.
Today I started to remove all the old underseal and this is what I ended up with
...
Now me and rust go back a long way, what with owning a 131
but I didn't expect this. The drain holes are useless as the tar laid on the inside of the car block them off and the problem has probably been compounded by muppets using the floorpan as a jacking point when changing tyres and weakening it
It's not a problem to fix as I've had plenty of use with the welder. Here's the wishbones I made for the 131
Made new chassis legs and part of the floor pan for the same.
But I'm just wondering if anyone else has had problems with tinworm in the same or any other area ? and is the battery the only thing I need to disconnect before welding ?.
Cheers
Mick.
