The closest tha tI know of is Walkers in South Otterington. It's worth a trip just to look at the Integrale's they have. Expect dealer prices;

Is it normally allowed to stay (and watch) the entire process? Back in Greece I used to service my car in a friend’s garage, so I always stayed there, and have learned many tricks myself. Do you know of any garages that allow that?

Yes - Quicksale and FAST will let you but I don't know about Walkers, as they're a franchised dealer probably not.
