If anybody is going to the meet from the north west / manchester area please leave a message here. I fancy a bit of a convoy through the peak district :D Hopefully meeting somewhere around the south M60 area.

I'm coming from Northwest but was thinking of doing the M6!

Re: Re: North West Xmas Meet Convoy

Guys your best bets, are either to go down the M6 to junction 15 and then across the A50, or from Manchester along the M62 to the M1 and then down to junction 24 to access the A50.
If you want more detailed route info just ask :)

Autoroute

Autoroute says that M6/A50 is the quickest but is 73 miles, whilst the peaks way is 50 miles but takes longer (and is a lot more fun). I would rather go through the peaks, but if others would rather go on the motorway then i will follow, id get lost through the peaks anyway i bet!

Bravo convoy.

Hi ppl, I will be popping along on Sunday. I live in Stretford near Mancheser.
The route via the peaks fills me with dread. Just think about all the old biddies out for a run to Buxton in their K reg Protons etc.
The M6/A50 is shorter than M62/M1, but has roundabouts and plenty of old ppl daydreaming too!
I drive about 70,000 miles a year, so on my days off just like to take the easy route with the least effort etc. Eeek - am I getting old ?
Hope to see some Bravos on the way, I have a steel grey very plain Y reg with a forum sticker in the back window.
Bye for now Simon.

Meeting place

I wanna set off as late as possible on the Sunday as I have my kids in the morning. No sol late that I have to tear arse down tyhe motorway tho. I would prefer the M6 route but I'm easy. If we go the M6 way may I suggest meeting at Knutsford services?

OK, Names, Times and Places!

north West convoy.

Who's in?

What time?

Where?

Which route?

M56/M6 junction

I will be coming down the M56 to get to the M6 and would like to meet somewhere near there. I dont know the road so dunno if there are any services or good meeting points.

Autoroute says its an hour and half to derby from there, so we need to meet about 10am and aim to leave by 10:15am.

All we need now is an exact location???????

On a side note i hope it isnt a race, as im only 19 they can take my licence off me for getting only 2 minor speeding offences. So a steady 75/80mph is what i expect!

Re: M56/M6 junction

OK

Is 10am Knutsford services on the M6 ok wityh peeps?

How about

M6 junction 19

A556

At the roundabout turn right on the A556 towards chester

There is a repsol garage 50 yards on the left. Be there for 10AM. Convoy leaves at 10:15AM.

If this is ok please leave your name so we can wait for you.

Re: How about

Wouldnt Knutsford services be easier? Then I dont have to look for a garage where I know I will get lost!

Its only a couple of miles down from that junction.

ok

So the North est convoy leaves Knutsford services (nr M6/j18) at 10:15 sunday morning.

Who's coming and what car do you drive

I have a t reg yellow hlx

Re: ok

I'll be there.

Ink Black T reg 80sx, easily spotted with some ridiculous sized white mudflaps!

Re: Re: ok

Right, suggest you print this.

Down M1 to junction 15.
Up the sliproad, theres a roundabout, go straight over A500. Go down the hill about a 1 1/2. Fork into the left of three lanes and go off onto the A50.
It'll take you up to a roundabout, turn right onto the A50.
It's dual carriageway, i think 50mph at this point.
Just stay on the A50. You'll go round the edge of Stoke and out the other side. You'll get to a roundabout where you turn right to stay on the A50.
Keep going and you'll get to another roundabout, go straight across this one, they'll be a McDonalds on your left hand side.
At the next roundabout go straight over, this is still the A50!!
Again, roundabout, first exit, A50
Last roundabout 2nd exit, A50.
You want to keep going until you get to junction 2, it'll be signposted, Derby, Shardlow and Donington Park.
Take this exit, and you'll end up on a short dual carriageway.
When you get to the roundabout turn right to Shardlow.
Travel about 1 1/2 miles and you'll get to the village of Shardlow. Travel about another 1/2 mile, past the Texaco garage and the pub's on your right, set back from the road.

This is the full address, you may want to also put the postcode into the AA's routefinder (http://www.theaa.com/travelwatch/planner_main.jsp), so you get their instructions as well.

The Clock Warehouse
London Road
Shardlow
Derby
DE72 2GL

Good luck, you can call me if you get lost, 07796454698.
