I've had a noisy parcel shelf since i had the car, 3 years ago, but i thought that was the norm. so id turn the stereo up until i couldn't hear it. but that's not ideal when you have family in the car.:bang:

then i drove a new pug 207 while mine was being fixed and noticed i didn't need the stereo on so loud because the shelf wasn't rattling!

is this just my car or does everyone have this problem and just put up with it.

Have you checked the clips that hold the tray on are there ..they can come dislodged quite easily.. I lost one of mine and didnt even realise till I heard the rattle..new ones are cheap to buy and I would glue the new ones in so they dont come out..:)

yeah, the one on the right side (looking into the boot) was broken when i had the stealth shelf in but i got some araldite on that and its firm in place now, the rattling seems to be coming more from the hatch side more than the seats side.

I've got something like this, looks like the actual plastic supports are damaged so the shelf essentially just sits on the top rather than in place.

The actual shelf isn't damaged and can't see any plastic bits that have broken off so I'm kinda confused. Pondering if I can get the replacement shelf support codes off the eper now :chin:

its a small problem, but small problems are usually the most annoying and hard to fix. i had a look at the sills the shelf sits on and they dont seem to be fitted properly to the car, they sag a little. when it stop raining i'll get a better look at it.

had the same problem mate its annoying as hell. just glued some rubber blocks to the rebate under the shelf to chock it up. did that two years ago not a peep since

Ive found that under the parcel shelf itself there is a wooden block (carpet covered) on either side which had come loose and so the shelf wasnt sittin on the sills properly , i glued the back in place and all is fine now.

thats what i was going to post!

also mines slightly warped and shuts under the hatch making it solid and no rattles!
