Noisy JTD - any solutions

Right i know JTD's sound like tractors anyway but mine is sounding increasingly rough. Its booked in for a service (oil etc) but is there anything i can ask the mech to look at / adjust to silence the beast a little?

go plough some fields.

New oil, filter, diesel filter, air filter and some good nice long drive so all can get cleaned
BTW-if its a tapeting noise, check the valve distance from the cam

stu--- u could just do like every1 else and turn the radio on.... loud.... sounds like a silent runner then

My sisters JTD does sound more tractor like than mine.. so i think it's just down to how it's been loved during it's life.


Mines serviced every 6k since new... where as my sisters.... well i serviced it @ 50k... thats all i know reguarding it's service history.


BTW... my tractor is more noisy than a JTD so don't worry
