noise from rear suspension under load.

Hi,i have an 11 year old punto mk 2.
Everytime i have 5 people in the car,i get groaning noises from the rear of the car,especially when i hit a bump,only happens with weight in the back.
I changed the shocks 4 years ago,so just wondering do the rear springs loose their effectiveness as they age, glad of any help

Difficult to diagnose, but I'd guess that the shocks are on their way out again.
