Technical no drive

hi how can i tell what caused my fiat ducato 2.8 tdi jtd maxi to loose all drive some people say gearbo some people say cluth it all started by jumping in and out of gear then lost all drive now when i start up van and put it into gear it goes in gear then when you relese cluth pedal it grates and the same when you depress pedal thanks

Could be either, the gearbox will have to come out to be sure.
