Technical No dashboard instruments working - 2007 plate

Hi all,

Yesterday after the weekly shop I returned to car put keys in turned to the first position and suddenly noticed the following -
Dashboard was lit up like when the lights are on.
Fuel warning light was blinking.
Warning, steering and ABS lights were on.
Had message ---'C displayed.

I then started the engine and the lights kept on with the engine running. The fuel gauge, revs, mph arms did not move at all. I drove home with no problems and then checked all the lights where working outside which they were.
Can you please help or advise what the fault could be. I thought it could be a fuse but cannot take the glovebox out to check them.

You sure that anyone didnt hit into your car while you was shopping?

Just had this problem, under the cover for the positive terminal on the battery, there are 5/6 bolts, the 2 on the left that are nearest to the terminal need to be connected some how, o pit copper wire from the jump leads and connected the 2 and it worked
