Technical No acceleration at all.

Greetings.

I'm having a problem once again with my Stilo 1.6 16v.

The cam belt snapped and the engine was down. So all got sorted out and it starts perfect now and idles well. But I can't seem to accelerate at all.
When I push down the paddle, you can hear a small change in idle but nothing much happens.

The mechanic doesn't know what might be a problem. So I'm thinking of taking it to a fiat specialist.

Might anyone have any idea and input.

Sounds like you need new mechanic:bang:
Almost certainly they have disturbed something while working on the engine or failed to re-connect something.
First, and easy, thing to check is to take the inlet hose off the throttle body and make sure the throttle is opening in response to the pedal. If not you have a starting point.
Next, if you don't have diagnostics, is a thoough visual check of the engine bay and electrics.

Next (or first) is to get proper diagnostics (Multiecuscan or Examiner) on the car and check for fault codes an that parameters are correct.

Had the same problem with mine check if the throttle body is connected and if it is it might need replacing

Ran diagnostics on it and it showed Throttle sensor position and crank sensor... Now I have no idea what is wrong with any of them. But I spoke to the Fiat Specialist that works at one of the dealers this side. He will make space for me to bring it in next weekend then he can check it out.

Hi, well it is connected, someone said I might need a new one, hopefully not because in South Africa, it is hella expensive to get a new one and very rare because Fiats aren't so common this side.

Sounds like problems have been caused by previous mechanic. Possibly a damaged loom. I did not realise our location, our profile says UK.

I'll get the technician to check it out. But it's quite obvious the previous mechanic damaged something. Will get back with feedback on what is going on.

I'm in South Africa. When I signed up, it never gave me an option for choosing S. A
