Well in my timing belt/clutch/overhaul project i've:
Changed all belts, tensioners, idlers, water pump.
Fitted new EBC Clutch
Replacement clutch slave cylinder as rubber boot on old one broken and cant get a replacement.
Had gearbox reconditioned as a bust seal had caused the previous clutch to be contaminated, and the loss of oil for some of the bearings to break up, although didnt cause any problems when driving i got it done to be safe and all nice parts etc in it.
Replaced some brake lines which had some corrosion on them
Changed;
Wishbones
TrackRod ends, droplinks + bushes
ARB Bushes
Steering rack gaiter, as 1 has been slightly damaged.
Above all done as the condition of them all was good enough for MOT etc, but as i have it dismantled and the parts werent too expensive I decided to do it all while labour wasnt going to be an issue. Decided against polly bushes due to problems others have had fitting them and just decided all new ones would be best.
Cleaned any small traces of rust, painted visible areas and undersealed any non visable areas i think might become prone to it in the next 5-10 years.
Some of the parts still to be fitted then its ready to go back into the car and have a full service including a new BMC panel filter, new clutch and brake fluids, air con recharged, new power steering fluid, new gear oil etc etc.
Once engine back in and running its MOT time, and have the immob problem to sort out although i have the red key now so hopefully that will sort it out.
I'll create another post when i have time with pics etc of each of the stages.
Sadly its taken so long due to various problems of finding the time where both me and my friend can work on it, and his garage was being used for a couple of months for another car. And as usually other things have cropped up along the way that needed done to other cars, but i'll be happy when its all done and she's back on the road with all her new parts.
I'm so glad i didnt send it to a garage to do, although its been a pain sometimes i know its all done properly and we've not cut corners to save time/money.
Ask me about it on sunday.. if your there.
