Hi there,
My name is Eleanor, and I recently purchased a 2011 500 0.9 with 241,000 kilometers on it for €500 earlier this year. I bought it as a backup for my unreliable daily driver (BMW).
Initially, the car still ran, but I couldn’t drive it home because of a broken thermostat housing. So, I decided to tow it home with my best friend, who had never towed a car before. It was quite an exciting experience in itself. Mostly because the part of keeping the rope tensioned failed within just 5 meters, resulting in a bent hook and a few centimeters away from a shattered front windshield of the towing car.
Besides the minor inconvenience of the thermostat housing there were some other issues / point of improvement
.
I’ll share all the budget-friendly work I’ve done so far and would appreciate some advice on the upcoming upgrades.
