Multipla newbie

hello, my names nigel iam a newbie.best whishes to all.
ive got aproblem with my 80km 1600 petrol multipla.The tickover is sometimes fast,i mean i could be in the middle of a journey at some traffic lights, and shes idleing at 1200 or1300, but further down the road shes ok again, my fuel consumption is only 23, i suspect the throtle vaulve assembley, any ideas please.

Can't help you with the problem though, as mine's a diesel...

Idle control valve get a new throttle body or spray a bit of Wd40 down it it might clear it
