Newbie, wanting to convert Punto to 2.0 Turbo.............

Hi all, a girlfriend of mine has a 1.2 Sporting on a R plate.

We have been pondering about converting it to something abit more powerful. Im into Vauxhalls myself and alot of engines etc are very much interchangable between Vauxhalls.

We are hoping its the same ase with our little plan. We are going to get a 2.0 16v lump from the Coupe. Engine, Box, Wiring, ECU etc etc.

Any advice on this conversion would be very very much appreciated, as i am new to the Fiat game, but me, my friend (the owner of the Punto) and another frined of mine are fairly experience in messing about with cars.

Well I've definitely seen 2.0 20v conversions done to Mk2 Puntos so I imagine it would be a fairly simple job. Best bet would be to drop a post in the Punto section if you haven't already, and have a scour through the guides and see if any similar project has been covered.

Thanks for your reply. The one we are going to be messing with is a MK1, we considered the 20v engine, but the engine bay is rather small, and we thought it would be quite a job making it fit in a MK1.
