I have just bought a Fiat Grande Punto, 1.2, 2007 model. The first Fiat I have bought after being a VW owner for many years.

From the Owner Handbook I understand I should have a Code Card issued to me. The garage has not passed this on to me and when I contact them about this say that Fiat do not issue these cards now, but are on a Database for when they are required.

I have received the code for the radio.

IWould someone advise a Fiat newbie if this is correct? What are the Code Cards for? Do I need to chase this up?

Welcome - I think that's right, they stopped making them sometime last year iirc - try posting/searching in the GP section for confirmation :)

Code cards are not supplied in UK ( too many crooks), information is held by NVSR, phone number / info should be in handbbook, also etched into windows. Reason for code is that key is coded to car , if an issue arises with key / non start you will need the code , dealer can obtain no prob, you could also contact them if necc.
