Grande Punto New to the group!

Hi there!
I've had my eye on a grande punto 1.9 m-jet for quite some time now. I finally sorted out the financial side of things but a few of my friends and also my parents have said that the gp 1.9's have an incredibly bad rap and their reliability is questionable!

I've fallen in love with this punto and don't want any other car at the moment, but I need to find out if it really is the car I want!
Can anyone tell me a bit about the gp as an owner with regards to good and bad points?

Numerous things to look out for -

Drop links
Alternator water leaking into
Rusting brake servo
Turbo failure on that model year
Gearbox whining equals failing
Suspension top mounts
Electric window switches not working

Probably more do a forum search on the above

The GP is a great car to own I think!
There might be a few reliability issues here and there but nothing to serious I think!
If buying a second hand car make sure you thoroughly check it though!
