Hey all! I am now a proud owner of a '73 Spider 124Sport. For the last 16 years I have been restoring classic and european cars, and have developed a healthy collection of cars that I can't seem to part with: Porsche, Lotus, Triumph, etc...

I am looking for a good tech forum as I will be starting a frame off restoration of the car in about a month. The last time it ran was '03, and there are a couple of small rust spots on the rear fenders, but they should be easy to cut and weld in patch panels. I'm already swimming in parts (seals, belt, clutch....) but was wondering if anybody new of a good source for windshields?

I will post some pics soon as I will be unloading it from the trailer tonight. Unfortunately I am still in the process of finishing my new garage, and it wont be finished until the beginning of May.. So it's a "hurry up and wait" process :)

I'm sure I will be hanging out here often.
Thanks in advance
-Nick

Howdy! (y)

I'm assuming your in the good old US of A? :)

We have a few members from that corner of the world with similar cars and projects. They may be able to help with yur search for parts and some technical expertise. (y)

Regular updates and pics would be a good idea

Hello and welcome to here from me (y)

Yup, I'm located in the US... but don't hold that against me :)

I drove about 900 miles yesterday round trip to pick her up! It is a complete car, minus radiator and some "bits-n-pieces", that has been partially dis-assembled by the PO who was going to restore it, but lost interest. He only got as far as taking the doors off, and dropping the transmission before he tired of the project. Then he left it outside for a year or so, uncovered... Lucky me :(

I plan on documenting the entire restoration, which will include removing the entire body to passivate and paint the frame and suspension. I will be rebuilding the entire drive train from engine to rear end, then repairing/and refinishing the body as I re-assemble it. I am planning on painting it the original color, but will add some cruhed pearl to enhance the finish.

Here is a photo from a week ago, before I picked it up and trailered it home:
