Hi everyone,

My wife had been running a Hyundai Terracan (primarily for towing horses) and a '62 plate Panda (daily driver) for the past few years - Terracan finally got the boot and we upgraded to a Honda CR-V which is sensible enough to both tow and use as a daily driver. Long story short, popped my old "characterful" 9N Polo on eBay and gave my wife the PX+Polo sale money for the Panda (PX offers were shocking, so I got a bit of a bargain).

So I'm now the owner of a white '62 plate 1.2 Panda Lounge. I've always tended to drive smaller cars (Fiesta/Ka/Polo) as I'm a tightwad (apparently), so looking forward to a few years with the Panda. Just joined the forum so I can read up on what may occur over its remaining lifetime (is up to 54k miles at the moment, has been serviced with each MOT etc... so would like to see it to 100k at least over the next 3-4 years) and share anything I come across myself. I was looking at Mk3 Pandas before I bought the Polo, so was quite chuffed when it suddenly made sense to upgrade from the Polo to the Mk4 Panda.

I'm enjoying it so far, is surprisingly perky (now it's mine I don't feel guilty going over 3000rpm) - just finding it a little bit cramped with a 6 month old (and all the associated gear) compared to the Polo - hopefully will improve when he's in a front facing seat!

Hello Chimpy and welcome to the FIAT forums from the Cotswold hills

Sounds like you're in a similar situation to me - I bought my first ever 'Italian job' a couple of weeks ago - a Mk4 Panda 4x4 TwinAir.

Quite a quirky thing with its two-pot engine but I am enjoying it so far.
I moderate on a SAAB forum still although no longer have that car, so I knew there would be a FIAT forum somwhere!

I own a couple of classic cars and wouldn't mind getting to a FIAT event in the future just to learn some more about the marque's history etc; I like to get involved with stuff.
