guys,
planning to replace original rear 185/60/14 with 175/70/14 snow tyres since those are the only available ones in the shop. will it cause any problems?-note that its only rear ones that are to be replaced. and what about the wheel size? is a 5.5*14 proper for 175/70/14, any problems there?
thanks

put normal tyres on the back and m&s tyres on the front of fwd cars. i think there only designed for low speed. they should fit ok; narrow tyres are better in the snow they cut through to the road, they have slightly larger diameter

well, i already have winter tyres(185/60/14)on the front so rear will only be back up when cornering and braking downhill. the new ones have 3% greater circumference, but will it be a problem on the rear--sppedo or odo error? and the rim width of 5.5 in. seems ok for 175mm tyre section width ?? can a 10mm increase in the ride height of the rear end of the car somehow make difference?
anyhow, i ll let you know if there is any difference when i get them put on.

snow tyres:confused:

where do you live??

in the UK specialist snow tyres (narrower, maybe a bit tougher, and maybe a more aggressive/looser tread pattern to clear snow and mush from itself) aren't really nessacery unless you live in some wild terrain somewhere!!

10mm higher ride height can = can rolling over.

its happened before when people fit big alloys to small cars and dont' lower them etc, the car simply wobbles over if you flinch or correct on a grippy enough corner
