Hello Everyone,

I purchased a Tipo 1.4 ies brand new back in December 94. It's been an absolutely smashing reliable car throughout it's life to date. When purchased the registration plate was M830VVX, but for most of it's life has carried the more appropriate A14 TPO. Although I rarely clean it, it's been maintained to a very high standard. It's always run on clean oil, and I have changed the timing belt and pulleys every 30,000 miles having seen the damage that broken belts can do! The colour is Estoril Blue, think that's the way one spells it, and the mileage is currently 151,200. The only time it let me down, was about three years ago when the front near side spring broke, so I replaced both sides. Although I'm very attached to her, her days may be numbered.
I know of a 93/94 silver 2.0 litre Tipo with only 19,000 genuine miles on the clock coming onto the market. The temptation to purchase it may very well prove to be just too irresistable.
A lot of the mileage accrued is a result of moving from Hertfordshire to North Wales, but still working in the former location for three years. So once a week for those three years it done the round trip of four hundred miles plus - every one trouble free. I used to smile at all the BMW's and other supposed top of the range vehicles that I used to see on the hard shoulder of the M6 as I went flying by! Pity Fiat phased them out, as I still prefer driving it to the Punto sporting I have, that has been no where as reliable. Many irritating rather than serious problems, but enough to make one curse when they crop up!
Look forward entering into dialogue as and when, and sharing experiences.

I had a 3 door 1.4ie in a reddy/brown colour, and my sister got the same in black. After 60 or more cars on my part and 12 on hers, we still reckon they were brilliant.
