General new punto and 2 problems

i bought a fiat punto 60sx ov a v plate 1999 model about a mth ago

i am happy with this nippy and roomy little car.

i have however noticed 2 problems-

one, there are noises from th rear of the car when going over bumpy/rough roads-almost like squeaking.

the other is heavy vibration is felt in the car only when braking firmly from say a speed of 60mph,there is also some vibration felt through the brake pedal when this happens.

could anyone shed some light on these problems?

my opinions are possibly either warped brake discs or rear drums-(i looked at the front pads which were fine),or is it a suspension problem?

hi there, my suspensions dun the same, but i got new shocks and it stopd....also ur disc mayb bent

i had a vibration through the brake pedal and a knocking noise when turning it was the discs warped or alloys are a little bent at the front if you have them..

discs can often warp when the car is driven hard or improper brake pads are used which generate too much heat (i.e they last longer than the OEM pads, but in return don't desperse the heat, minor damage is warping, major damage is when they get so hot they crack and explode at speed, believe me its nasty!!).

i bought the car a mth ago-43 k miles on the clock.
i do not know whether the pads replaced by the previous owner were OEM or not as there is no record of it in the service hx in my possession.
but the previous owner did drive this car hard ,-so that may explain the warped discs.
