Hi Don,

Welcome to the forum

By 'hot' I'll assume the engine, not the UK weather

This could be something known as 'heat soak' where heat causes various materials properties/resistance to change and even not function as intended.

First thing I would suggest is to check your battery, cables going to the starter then the starter relay.

When you try to hot start do you get a clicking sound?

I seem to remember some electromagnetic starter motors not even activating when hot - I don't know what type you would have fitted.

If you have some jumper leads and a beefy screwdriver you could test whether there is an issue with your stater solenoid or the starter motor itself.

it's when the engine is hot it won't start but you can hear the motor click so i have bought a starter motor off ebay for £20.00 so i am going to fit that tomorrow

Put a single jump lead between engine and chassis and see if that helps. If it does, add earths.

got the starting problem sorted ,when i am driving the car it seems the turbo is not working sometimes i'v been out in it today and it seems as if it did not work at all when it does it come's in about 3000 rpm then it gives a kick in the back
i'm going to spray the boost valve tomorrow see if that's the problem ,i was wondering if there was any other control that could course it .thanks

now got a new problem car starts runs for a few seconds then stops then won't start again ,connected my launch x431 box to it and it says not reading cpu .thanks

got the problem sorted it was the fuel filter was blocked

Hi I am a newbie. I have a Fiat Punto Grande 2006 reg. The gearstick is a bit stiff. Car has 110,000 miles. Any ideas how to get it loosened. Besides bringing it to gearbox/clutch garage?

Try to lubricate the cables, replacing the GB oïl may also help after 12 years ...
