Hello everybody.New Guy here with little X1/9 which I use for oval racing in Ireland. Koni shocks in front with two Bilsteins in the back, coilover sleeves on all shocks to make life a bit easier.Took out standard 1500cc and put in DOHC 2.2 Vtec instead. Was a tight fit but it worked out okay, running on twin 48mm carburettors which take up the boot space.Ten inch Weller wheels with 9x20 Avons sit under it.
I know its not what some purists would agree with but its a lovely little car that goes like the clappers!
Have a Cinq 1108 racing aswell, lookin to put in 1242cc 8valve for bit more power. Our rules limit the tuning on small engines,is it worthwhile swapping the 1108cc for the 1242cc?

question, how did you go from EFI to carb? as this engine your talking about is none other than the H22A. just curious and can you tell me where the engine is mounted? and all the jazz is like carbs and what not? cheers.

It's the H22A engine mounted in the back where it belongs. Had to make up engine mountings as i went, used Honda at the front and back for stability and kinda doctored Uno 903cc mountings along with some 2" box for the two side mountings. The inlet manifold to allow the webers bolt on was made at home, we cut the flange off the injection system and mated it to a Ford 2.0litre manifold. With carburettors on the engine the Vtec is wired direct to a switch, its only a solenoid operating the Vtec so i can choose to have it on or off whenever. Had to put Uno45 front calipers on the back of the X1/9 to make it stop. Got a fright at how bad the standard brakes were.
