ive just bought a 1910 td marea weekend on the 'R' plate the chap i had it of ran over a speed hump and took the sump of .
I was told it was just a simple repair replace big end shells and replace sump . then my brother said it was easyer to replace engine could someone give me there advice thanks:confused:

thanks for that. just one more thing what if i decide to change whole engine will it need reprogramming with red key .

(y) thanks very much for that info will give it a go and let you know how i get on cheers

I was told today that there shouldn't be anyother damage to the engine apart from the big end shells .
would be greatful for another opinion because i was going to swap the whole engine tomorrow . HELP !!!!!!!!!!!! what would you guys recomend.

dunno if this is any help, but i bent a conrod racing a vr6 18 months ago and it took out the shells. This in turn chewed the crank which was replaced. I'm told putting it all back together was a real pain and would have cost a fortune! Praise the warranty!!! :slayer:
if thats happened to yours and you can find a cheapish engine a swap may be easier and cheaper.

mmmm!!! cheers i think i'll change the whole lump as its coming from my other one cause i know it's o.k. i think i was just lookin for an excuse not to swap the engine
