I just had the car repainted (y), its a 50th anniversary edition, and the old molding looks bad and I am missing one of the ends. Anyone have any idea where I can get this or any suggestions on modern molding that would look like it fits?

(I wish I made the decision to go without molding but I didn't, and the holes are still there :bang: )

Thanks in advance.

Some dealers used molding that was attached with clips or screws and some used molding that was held on by an adhesive, different dealers used different types - but that doesn't solve your problem. Call Bruce's Parts Bun or Vick's or IAP or any of the other valued suppliers, they will be glad to help.

I appreciate everyones input, and did find a couple people on the list above that i didn't know about, but the reality is that none of the standard Fiat players are much help with this.

I am really looking for either some sort of molding supplier that has an extremely broad selection wrt style and price or specializes in molding for restored older cars.

You also never know when someone reading this might have some old molding that they took off their Fiat and aren't using anymore.

This was a last ditch effort to get lucky.:)

I have an "LE" what number is yours?. FYI if you need any, I have exact replica decals for the spider. I just posted a thread to give all a heads up. Let me know since you just got a paint job. thanks!

i have the same dilemma with my '80, in that the side molding that was installed at the dealer as an "option" here in Kalamazoo, Michigan. that molding has lost a piece, and the white plastic insert has long since hardened and yellowed.

i disagree that a "common" side molding was used. I have looked several times at suggested sites to replace what I have, and each time find the style is not the same as what is on my car.

since you don't wanna respray your sides, and wanna hide the holes left behind.... i would suggest finding a style of stick-on, self adhesive aftermarket molding generally sold by most high volume, low cost parts stores.

Thats what I ended up doing and it looks very nice. Its chrome with a goldish insert that blends in nicely with the 50th Anniv. gold color.:)

Sorry it's not a great picture but the shadows were killing me.

If anyone has any more info on the 50th Anniversary Spider I would appreciate it.
