My 1962 Neckar Weinsberg is nearing the end of a nut and bolt restoration. It´s a RHD version of German produced coupe, built by Neckar under license from Fiat. Similar to Autobianchi, but a bit more Fiat 500 in the panel work (doors are stock, front panel modified) so less cute. Much rarer, though.

Car was first registered in Jersey, but ended up in Alicante, where it was seized by the customs in 1980s. I found it complete but needing total rebuild about 6 years ago.

Rebuild has been carried out professionally, everything new as required.

Does anyone know if the Neckar was sold in mainland UK or only in Channel Isles?

I am so jealous,
I nearly bought one about 3 years ago. It was a rhd model that had been sitting in a garage for years. unfortunately the garage roof had been leaking and the front wings, front panel and bulk head were badly corroded.
Due to how scarce the panels are for this model I decided not to buy it.
I have been kicking myself nearly every day since. I have searched the net so many times looking for another one.
I saw the photos of your red one on various sites. So good to see you have managed to restore it. Its looking great.
Here's a few photos of what I nearly bought.
Haven't been able to find out much about how many were sold in the uk.

Thanks Sean

Sorry for the delay in replying, but I haven´t checked the forum for a while.

If you are interested, the car will be sold in UK when finished. I wanted to make sure the car survived and had the opportunity to do something special, but it is RHD and will be a showcar, so has no meaning in Spain!

Restoration has been professionally done by an Alfa specialist, all documented. All major components as original to the car, but rebuilt. All consumables, rubbers, etc have been replaced with new. Most chrome/mouldings new or rechromed.

Car should be finished before Xmas, but can´t price it until work is complete.

Thanks. Alfa spider is a beaut and the garage gets some interesting cars in (though none get as much attention as the Weinsberg!)

Have you notice the Dino spider top left? Sad story.....was being restored in Italy and someone stole everything which wasn´t currently bolted to the rolling chassis. No dash, engine, box, windscreen, trim......

My Weinsberg is now "finished"......one or two mechanical issues to sort out, but sure is pretty.

That is so nice. I am now so kicking myself for not buying one a few years ago, probably never find one again. Please post some more photos so I can keep them in my collection.
