I have a Fiat Uno Turbo Abarth with the 1301cc engine and the Le-2 Jetronic Injection... but now is Dead... it dosent start!! it got no pulse in the enjectors and the spark is gone to!!! .... i have tested the mayor part of the sensors... all seems to be normal... but it dosent start any way... y think is the Power Module Supply but i dont know how to test it... anyone knows how to test it?? plese let me know... or any idea of what can be fault?

THX...

I've never had my Turbo die on me, but the first thing I would check would be the fuel injection control relay near the battery. Actually, thinking about it, that only affects the injection, not the spark. Does the fuel pump run when you turn the key on (a whizzing sound from near the fuel tank?) If not, suspect this control relay (a special type).

I thought we'd start with that because that's what I know about. Now, the injection and ignition systems are two separate ECUs. I find it a bit hard to understand why both would be not working, so suggest you obtain the Haynes manual page and test the labelled pins for the Microplex ignition ECU connector at the back of the engine bay (my Haynes manual is 13,000km away so I can't look up for you, sorry ;))

Have you tested the red wire at the ignition coil for 12V?

Have you checked the crank angle sensor connection that floats around between the gearbox and the coolant expansion tank?

Thanks,
-Alex

Hello there.

As I don't have an Uno Turbo, this is a reply that only might be of substance...

Back to the Ritmo Abarth. This is non-injection, but has a Digiplex ECU, where everything is controlled electronically. We had just your symptoms, and tried to change anything from battery, coil, plugs, HT leads, wires, ignition electronics etc.

Then our handy Hells Angels biker neighbour came over and had a look. He, with other interests than cars, had the same problems on his bike. It turned out the be the ECU.

So we tested the ECU, and found it faulty. We got a spare one, and VROOOOOOM! VROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

Do an ECU test.

Hello there!!!... Thanks for Reply!!

Im still Working on my Uno Turbo... i havent found the fault yet!!!! but the Injection Relay seems to be rigth, the fuel pump works good, but the injectors dosent have pulse when the engine is turning, and the TDC sensor, Engine Speed sensor, knock sensor, have the rigth resistence from the multi ping connector from the microplex unit. the coil is fine too, but i havent tested the POWER MODULE SUPLY.... dont know how...

the way that my Uno stop runing was very strange.... all was fine until i go tru a dirty road, and the car start like cuting the ignition until it totaly stop and didnt star any more....

I hope i can fix it fast.... I MISS MY UNO!!!!

THX guys... hope you can help me :worship:

hey dude try checking you earth connected properly. the same thing happened to mine refused to start and all i did was reconnedct the earth and it started

Check for a switching earth "pulse" when cranking on the negative terminal of the coil. pulse = module is good. This is also pin 1 on the module. Check power on the positive side of the coil and pin 4. Pin 6 should have a small positive pulse, this is the ecu signal.

Give every thing a "wiggle" test mate just to see if a connection has come loose

But be very carful with the ECU as they run on about 0.5-Volts normally

I KNOW THIS IS A BIT OBVIOUSE BUT HAVE YOU TRIED GETTING A NEW DESTRIBUTOR CAP AND ROTARY ARM I HAD A ROVER THAT WHEN I TRIED STARTING IT ONE MORNING THE DISTRIBUTOR CAP SHATTERED INSIDE AND WOULDNT START JUST TAKE THE CAP OFF AND CHECK CONNECTION QUITE SIMPLE REALLY BUT WORTH A TRY......CANT SAY I DINT TRY:yum:
