General My UNO 60D drive me craze!

The fan belt was replaced by RAC two weeks ago, now it has been wore out!!!!--Screaming!
RAC said the reason for its' wearing out was the wrong alternator, although it is working.

Today, I went to a local garage. The mechanic told me that the proble was from the aging cam belt and asked me to replace it.

These two options will cost me about 80 pounds each--what shall I do?

There is only 2 reasons why your fanbelt wears, 1/if the alternator is out of line with the other pulleys,2/ if it is the wrong unit,the belt probably cant be adjusted correctly, if thats the case go to a motor factors remove belt have them measure it, and they should be able to supply one the correct length.
If the pulleys out of line, the spacer on the mounting, needs reposiotioning.Not had much to do with fiats, but whats the cambelt got to do with your fan belt?? i think someones trying it on
