Just took my uno for it's MOT It fail on rusting of the " front vehicle structure, nearside rear structure and Offside inner rear vehicle structure, seriously affecting it's strength within 30cm of the body mountings." I'm devastated I got a quote on the welding and it's £200. I might do it if I cant find another for £200.

sounds about right.

make sure it is properly rustprotected afterwards, then it should never ever need have rust endanger it again, if they just weld some new plates in and paint top coat on it (cheapo method) then it;ll last about 6months then it will rust right thru again

I'm actually thinking about commiting mortal sin and getting a clio. a friend has one and offered me it for silly money. we will have to see. If i do get the clio. ill put my baby on the forum.

Ive change my mind while working tonight. Im keeping her. The fact is if i get a new car it could have engine probs. with mine i know everything is in tip top shape. it's safer to spend the money on my car. (y)

Good move!

I think the Clio would have been more than £200?
Of course, you'd also have had to make new friends on the Renault forum? ;)

Any car can have problems... even the so-called 'reliable' Japanese cars :)
My Celica still has a number of worn-out bits that would probably have been replaced by now on an Uno.

Hey - at least Seijunkie *tried* and didn't threaten to sell out for a Renault... :) Just because they're winning the F1, tsk tsk...

I always think the credit belongs to those who try the more 'interesting' mods.
I had the idea of connecting up the boost gauge of a Turbo instrument cluster to the radiator expansion tank of a non-Turbo Uno... still haven't actually done that yet...
