This car in 3 words.

OH MY GOD

This is the first car that I have driven that I have got out of an felt nervous after. The power is rediculous and its onlu running standard boost! 1st, 2nd, 3rd and its gone! unbelievable. Im sorry to all those people that have 1.1 Centos and think they are fast. :p I know the feeling but you just cant compare to a proper fast car :)

Collected it last night and had a faultless drive back from Birmingham. Even had an incident with a subaru impreza. Also had a number of boy racers having a look at the petrol station.

Absolutly love it!

its 1301 on the docs.

as for power and stuff, dunno really :) alot compared to the cinq :D. its not really had that much as far as modifications goes. just lowered 40mm all round, alloys, scorpion backbox and straightthrough system (no cat :D), got a bleed valve but ive turned it off so running around 0.7 bar standard. and got a K&N. thats about it :). good starting point me thinks.

Cinq is gone already

for sure.... think u have hit a gold mine there matey! (y)

ive gotta wait till sept till i can think about cars like that, need some no claims.

but the only thing im concerned about is the rust on the uno's, and general reliability of them and the punto gt's

id love one, but as i need an everyday car for work, im not sure

u bringin it to ace on the 9th?

yup ital be at ace.

insurance for me is £1300 with no noclaims and its my first policy. been a named driver on the cinqs for 2 years.

Quinn-Direct.

Anyway, yeah its got some rust, mainly cosmettic as in the bottom of the doors (as in pics) and a bit around the filler cap and a little spot on the bonnet. other than that, theres a little bit of surface rust on the floor in the boot (defo surface rust just where the surface has been scratched) and the rest seems fine, rear arches are solid and front turrents have just recently been derusted and welded.

car is completly delocked too which was a nice suprise as i didnt know till i turned up to get it :D interior rattles like no tomorrow but hey, its an uno :D nothing a few rubber washers wont help.

car milage is 125000 but its had an engine rebuild by the owner before the last at around 70000 plus its been fully serviced just before end of last year so its running lovely :)

no silly boost.
I turned the stupid valve off. its running standard boost :)

cool cool....

thats not a bad price, my problem is 2004 wasnt a good year, had a couple of.... well..... mishaps, granted 1 wasnt my fault, but even so, doesnt look good!

so will have to see wat mr insurance company says when i renew in sept!

looks like youve done well with her.... just gotta treat her well and hopefully all will be good (y)

looking mint bushboy! :D but then again when wouldnt i approve! lol

check the rust round the filler cap asap, as if its showing on the outside of the car, this normally means its rotton on the inside :O but hopefully it'll be fine!

looks pretty tidy matey! how much u pay? got many plans for it?

standard uno turbos are alright arent they? go ok! but i tell u, once uve tasted nearly 200bhp in one u certainly realise how slow the standard ones are lol!

but it looks mint matey, now get that wallet out and get some proper mods goin on! and dont be shy, get that boost wound up to 14.7 psi! (1 bar) or at least 13 psi just to be on the safe side ;)

have u checked all the sills? inner sills? bulk head? rear turrets? floor pans? these are all major rust areas (well most of the uno is a rust area lol)

and ur right bushboy, these cinq/sei owners dont know what quick is do they :p :D

Dunc

well i put the boost valve up about half a turn from closed (prev owner closed it for me before i got there, said it was on about 3/4 of a turn and went for a drive to see the difference.. pulled great, but started hesitating on full throttle so i turned it back off lol and its fine again

will check over all the rust spots next week. ive got a week off so plenty of time to attack it all.

Cost me £850 altoghether :)

Don't know about that my Cinq is turbo'd in region of 120bhp 125lbs.ft toruqe and I have an integrale EVO with about 250bhp & 280lbs.ft torque, Uno's feel slow to me ;)

As Dunc said check the stuff you can't see as the surface rust usually means its coming through from the inside.

As for tuning, wacking the boost up is very old school of thought, turbo cars actually respond to conventional tuning methods better than N/A cars, like exhuasts, filters, headwork etc as sorting the breathing out means the forced induction is cleaner/has an easier route top follow, putting less strain on the turbo, so less work is needed to produce the same boost.

I know what you mean about being nervous, the first time i drove a turbo car I felt nervous, but in an excited way, never looked back.

PS forgot to say, nice car.

Hi Bush,

Looks tidy for an E Plate, nice ride, is that snow in the pictures?

I fully know what you mean, spent 4 hours in my mates 280hp 200SX at the weekend and going back to the Cinq felt crap, I had to keep glancing at the speedo to see if I were actually moving!

How long will this one last for?

aaron, while ur here i gotta admit something, i may have bin looking at grale evos recently  :D

Dunc

Well they are far more classy than Saff Coswurffs!

I love mine and still can't believe I own it when i look at it sometimes, and the values are starting to go up again, but as with any homologation special like a 'grale, Cosworth, GT4, GTiR etc you have got to buy the best you can afford cos there is never a cheap performance car. and service costs are higher due to the complexity of the FWD systems over FWD cars.

I warn you tho, if you drive one you will want one, I made the mistake of going to see one in local showroom in Bournemouth as I couldn't believe they had one for sale, the guy gave me the keys, a tenner for fuel and said take it for a spin, 30mins later when i returned I agreed to be back 2 days later with the money.

If you want any info on them, give me a shout, or come to Auto Italia at Brooklands i've a feeling i may take it there rather than the Cinq.

I start the bidding at 2 months! :p

I have changed my mind since earlier, i like it, imo need red grill or something, make it look newer.. and i would say some more subtle alloys..

thats my opinion though.
