Good luck! Excellent opportunity to do everything the little car needs doing in the engine bay while the lump is out, as well as doing everything on the lump you can do to make it run nice n reliable! Like Change it for a known good one that hasnt thrown a rod (y)

Great little project that, take your time, rushing will lead to mistakes.

Sit down for an hour and do a Project Plan on it so you dont have to undo things to do something else, or miss ding something because its too late..... Ideal time for a new clutch kit IMO. Like for like engine swap to keep it simple.

yep im dropping the same engine in, and like you say a clutch kit is on the list already.
need to get the brakes sorted as soon as the engines done as she's been standing for a while.

If you paid £150 for a mk2 2002 punto I am jealous I paid £700 for my MK1 earlier in the year.

This is a little off topic, but do you ever read something thats really not funny, but makes you chuckle for some reason? I was reading through your annotations of the pics and saw the "Got busy today and this happened" next to the picture of the engine totally removed from the car. LOL. Thanks for making me laugh mate. :p

The car looks good too, got a little bargain there ;) Also, was that a dent in the drivers door/wing that you've taken out?

yes the drivers side had taken a knock, needed a new wing and i managed to get one in the same color on ebay for £10! i think the strut is bent to as the wheel tilts in a bit so need a new strut but thats just bolt off/on and reasonably cheep.

well i'm not doing to bad here - paid £150 for the car
sold the cd player for £20,
the head - inlet manifold and throttle body for £70
its got half a tank of fuel = £15

paid £4 for a mirror glass
£18 for a wing
£28 for headlight

so all in all to get the car to a good standard its cost me = £95 + say 8 hours of my time ish:rolleyes:

Bargain me thinks (y)

plan is to pay up to £200 for a decent engine + about another 8 hours of my time and i should have a great little runner :slayer::slayer::slayer::slayer:
