Hi!

I will soon by the proud owner of a shiny new 500 - a basic Pop in Chillout Purple, because a colour change was the only addition I could afford!

I have been spying on this forum for a little while, getting hints and tips and just generally reveling in the excitement, so I thought it was about time I joined up!

They said it should arrive by mid September, and I had a call last week saying it was in the UK so fingers crossed it won't take too long - I have seen that some of you had issues with it taking so long to get to the dealer.

Anyway, nice to meet you all :)

Rachel

Thanks guys!

To be honest I didn't really have much choice of colours. The MOT is due on my existing car (a rickety old Peugeot 206 with 180k miles on the clock), and there is no way it will pass so I had to figure something out quick!

All I had to choose from was what they were getting into the dealers anyway, and the choice was BNW, pink or Chillout. I'm not a big fan of white cars (don't kill me!), plus I work in a castle so pale colours are not the most practical, and pink isn't really my thing, so purple it was!

They had a lounge in Chillout so I had a look, but the more I think about it the more the colour has grown on me. Plus it's quite unusual and I haven't seen many on the road, so I'm happy!

You work in a castle? Your job sounds infinitely more awesome than mine :D

The castle is in the middle of nowhere and is pretty dusty, so the car would get filthy quickly!

It's probably more glamourous than it sounds! But it is pretty fun, especially the school trips I get to lead. Making cocky kids run around in chainmail can be entertaining - not that I'm cruel at all :nono:

Do you have a dungeon?

So I've been to the dealer today to finish sorting finance stuff, and I'm collecting my baby on Saturday. So excited!

Others seem to have a bit of a longer wait, so it's lucky I live in Bristol if that's where they are shipped to..

That's a surprisingly short wait, I know alot of people are having to wait alot longer to get theirs.

I wish I had a crypt where I work... I think :D

Eek I'm just about to go and collect it, so excited!

Shame it's not sunny at the moment as the purple won't really show, but never mind :)

just seen a brand new 500 in chillout purple leaving stoneacre fiat .it looked stunning in the sunshine i think you have made a good colour choice(y)enjoy

I have finally managed to sort some photos out, as I have been too busy driving around all weekend! I'm really pleased with the colour, and even when the sun isn't out it still looks nice and smart.

But sadly the pictures still don't do it justice. When I saw the sun coming out I had to rush outside to take a photo while I could!

Kinda wish I'd got mine in purple now, it looks so good when the sun shines on it :)

Can imagine that's going to be hard to keep clean though! Have to say it's one of my favourite colours in the 500 range :)

Its not too bad, but you need to keep on top of it :bang: . I must admit I hate it when the sun is shining and its dirty (n). Luckily its so small it doesn't take long to give it a once over (y)
