Technical Multipla purchase

Hello,

I’m considering a Multipla purchase. I currently own a Alfa 147 so am familiar with Italian autos to an extent. I have very good local indie who just deals in Fiats and Alfas.

The car is a ‘03 Multipla 1.9 JTD E3, 295,000kms, cam belt done at 248,000 , no oil leaks. Apparently a slight grind going into reverse at times. It is currently registered with a warrant of fitness through to July ‘21.

Thoughts on this, considerations with this type? Things to watch out for and look at prior to test drive. Warning lights etc, air con etc. Are the engines robust.

My first questions would be:

1, where are you, if near a sea side pay attention underside for rust.
2, Get some pictures of it and whilst you at it, have a good look to see how you feel - has it been neglected etc.
3, Give it a test drive if you can
4, Even if you are a mechanic, take someone with you, you can bounce ideas
5, if you like it, buy it

Sounds a bit like a bit of bleeding on the clutch or longer term might be clutch replacement.
