Hi all,

Thought I would register on here and see if anyone else shares my current problems. I have a 52 reg Multipla 1.9JTD, which I want to love, but it keeps p1ssing me off.

I have gone thorugh the seemingly usual ailments of replacing drop links, anti-roll bars, new front wishbones....

When I first bought the car I had an engine management fault (Eng ctrl Faulty, please pay a Fiat dealership lots of money). Which ended up in a new Lamba sensor, new dump valve and ultimately a new Turbo ££££.

The problem is this engine warning light has come on again, as soon as I take it over 3000rpm for a couple of minutes the fault comes up and a rev limiter kicks in (< 3000rpm). Any ideas, surely the turbo can't be goosed again after only being in a year and having barely done 10000miles!!!

Plus, on start up (which is fine) the spark plug coil light now keeps flashing for about a minute, no idea what causes this and no mention in the handbook.

Almost tempted to trade it in, the only problem is that it is a great car for my family!

Get yourself down to the Multipla section and ask down there ..welcome to here (y)

As above, post in the Multipla Section.

The light that you are referring to as flashing is the Glow Plug light, as your car does not have spark plugs or coils. The flashing means that there is a fault in the system, could be something as simple as you need a new glowplug!

The reason you cant get over 3000rpm is because the car has gone into "safe" or "get me home" mode, which basically means it is limiting its performance in order to get you home and prevent the "problem" getting any worse.
As the engine management light has come on, there will be a fault code logged. Get you fault codes read and this will tell you what is causing the problem! Could be something simple, so i wouldn't panic just yet!

Hope that helps,
Alan
