Hi, I have a 2000 multipla 1.9jtd with about 120,000 on the clock. The problem I have is that sometime when I accelerate (especially on motorways or on long journeys), the engine will just suddenly cut out and it takes a good few minutes of cranking the engine to get it started again. I have taken it to my mechanic who has put it on the computer to read the fault codes, but there are none!
Does anyone out ther have any idea what it could be?

You have your own personal mechanic:confused:As in most cases its best (often cheaper in long run!) to get it properly diagnosed (with dedicated equipment) at dealership however the crank (RPM) sensor sounds a likely suspect.

Ok, so he's not 'my' mechanic, he's just the local garage I use, and the 'computer' is a snap on computer that cost around £1000!!

Ok, but how do I tell, if I take it to a specialist for testing will they find faults that the other diagnostics computer couldn't pick up?
