hi..I have a 2001 crackin Multipla deisel 1.9JTD. Has been the most reliable car that we ever had. Have had a lot of smoke when starting and cold.
Took it to a machanic and he said my Injectors where leaking and there was a burn off - hence the smoke. He is looking for £340 sheets per injector x 4. he also said my clutch is on the way out, and £450 sheets.
Are these injectors a DIY job if your handy enough or are they under pressure.

Would any of you good people have any advice or know any Multipla friendly fixers here in sunny Belfast....many thanks.

p.s. be honest is this a scrap job.....

Find another garage, £340 per injector is ridiculous and £450 for a clutch is on the cheap side if that includes parts.
You can get injectors re-conditioned for about £100 a pop, however I'd be very surprised if all the injectors have issues. There'a set on Ebay for £55 although these are for 105 and I'm guessing you've got a 110/115.

Try a diesel specialist (Bosch autoparts), but do get another quote from someone.

Clutches aren't a very nice job!!!!!!!!!!, is the mechanic talking about injectors dribbling into cylinders or leaking off to the return???????? dont normally have all 4 fail together!!!!!!.
Have you tried just disconnecting airflow meter see if this makes any difference will bring light on , but once reconnected will/should clear after 3 drive cycles this will give a default fuel value I had a flow meter causing excessive smoke (over fueling / causing disel knock sounded like dribbling injector

Thanks for the advice guys. Im not great around an engine but i will go and get a second opinion. i was told that 3 out of the 4 injector where leaking.

there is no visible sign of a leak in the way you would with engine oil on the ground. The air flow bit was disconnected a couple of years ago cause it needed replaced but the mechanic said I'd be okay without it albeit i would use a bit more fuel. this is okay as the missus uses it as a wee run around.

Thanks again
