I got my cruise control fitted today on my Multipla jtd, £399 including fitting.
I got it done in South Shields.
It's got a stalk control with 2 memory settings, so far , so good!

Seems like a good idea to me. You've obviously gone for a servo type control that keeps to a certain speed. Thats what I was looking at.

There is a very simple self fit one on the market that simply locks the throttle cable, for about £50. Someone on the Yahoo group forum has fitted one and is pleased with it too. It does have the usual failsafe on it which I believe wired through the brake light switch. Look at http://www.conrad-anderson.co.uk/cruisecontrols/cruisecontrols-models.htm and the Eagle Economic simple throttle lock.

Cheers, Panda.

Eagle Economic throttle lock is no good for my Multipla, it's a drive by wire (electronic throttle) hence no throttle cable ,not servo type either, it's straight into the electrics.
And yes, why not?

Oh ok. What make is it and what firm did you use? Might be interested myself when I one day get a new Multi!

Ok,bit harsh, but chances are if your multi's anything like mine your gonna need that 400 quid for more essential issues in the forseeable!!

How's that like, is your multi nee good or summick or di yee not naa how ti fix em?

Made by spal, but you can also get waeco and lite on. I like cruise and would have it on any car, £400 fitted is very reasonable, some of my mates spend much more on alloys or sound systems or mechanical problem garage bills which I can do myself, electronics I reckon is my weak point in fixing cars.
By the way I like pandas old and new and 126's. I had a 126 many years ago that had a factoy fitted throttle lock that disengaged when the brake was pressed, a bit like an eagle economic.

want to talk about it...were here to help:)

Ok ,therapy session imminent.......Bought a 2000 JTD 110 2years ago,54k,now on 85k,most practical /brilliant car I've ever owned,but also the most unreliable.
The list of woes:bang:.
Front suspension...drop links,lower arms,now A/R/Bar bushes banging away.
hand brake cable
rear cylinders leaking
front springs recall, dealer says top mounts shot and of course they aint covered....Kerching!
Injector
glow plugs and ECU
another injector
key remote button fails....never mind I've got a spare.
1 week later spare key remote button fails
1 week later alarm somehow sets itself, cant do anything to stop it going off
1 minute later alarm unit ripped out and thrown over hedge.
Non folding mirrors
lots of other minor niggles mostly electrical

Actually the cars been good now for a few months (just grabbed a lump of wood),apart from the constant banging from the front end...(turn the radio up a bit more)

Ok ,therapy session imminent

LOL...:D

ok...well a few points;

remote failure has been talked about here few times(re-solder switch to board) & front suspension noises are common on older multiplas & as a result its unfortunate that after 4-6 years (normally spotted at MOT or service time) the multipla owner will get faced will a large bill.

Alot of that stuff is normal service items (glow plugs etc) but why the ECU?
