Technical Multipla 2002 JTD Gearbox jumps out of 5th

I have recently bought this car and am very pleased with it. However it jumps out of fifth gear when driving along. It selects fifth ok but there is a whole load of movement in the gearstick position and it will jump out of fifth gear. Can anybody help re a replacement gearbox and or specialist to do this job? Thanks in advance.

sounds like a gearbox fault but a specialist gearbox garage would be best. Might just be a linkage problem. good luck with it.

can do 5th gear ,with out taking the gear box out so it will be cheaper that swaping gear boxes,that is if it is not a linkage problame.waggle the gear lever and check the linkage behind and below the battery to see if the movement is in the linkage and may tighten up .
