I am planning to replace the belt+guide+tensioner on my Multi. I have carried out many belt replacements in the past (mainly on Alfa TS models), but never done the JTD before.
I have the manufacturers CD and the special tools however my experience is that there is nothing superior to hearing all the advice tips and pointers from people who have done it themselves!
So please, If you have done this job yourselves in the past and have come across anything worth mentioning, now is the time to let me know about it!
Many thanks!

Hi l am in the same position as you l've bought my timing belt kit and a workshop manual CD that l think is useless, where did you get the timing tools and how much is it? i'm waiting to see what help and advice you get, could you give me anything you get please
....Andy

The Cd I find to be quite helpful, it needs getting used to though. I Bought the belt kit at a main dealer (I prefer an OE kit) and the laser tool kit from an online tool shop.
I willl pass on to you any input I receive. So far Nobody has said anything yet.

Same position here , as far as i know there is nothing to be aware of really but make sure you replace every tensioner and idler pully.
The crank pulley may be worth having a look at as i believe they may have a rubber bonding which can deteriate but dont quote me.

what tool do you use to lever the tensioner? I noticed it is very similar to the tensioner used in the Alfa 156/147 TS petrol engine which I have a special tool for levering the tensioner into the correct position. Do I use the same tool on the JTD?
Also, What do you mean that the tensioner bolt is too short? I am replacing the kit with an OE kit should they not require the same bolt? If the one that is fitted at the minute is doing its job why do i need a longer one? Please elaborate.
Thanks
