Have been experiencing heavy tyre wear to the INNER edge of front Tyres on `o4 JTD. Has anyone out there had same problem. Fiat are full of denials, but I see that Netherlands dealership is meeting 50% of customer`s tyre costs!

Have put 3rd set of tyres on car with 24,000 on clock,-suspect CAMBER angle. Am actively chasing this through many channels, incl.CRF , fiat`s own research people.

I will get results as this cannot be put down to `tracking error`. or misuse-( how do you misuse a Multipla?)

Any comments /info please send to Ruggero Cordani, thanks.

Hi there. I was getting through fronts every 7500 miles. Fiat deny any problem. However, had the tracking reset by local independent and they say tracking had never been adjusted as the adjusting nut things were seized solid! Now I had paid for tracking with each set of tyres (from tyre places, not Fiat.) Curious, so beware.

Tyre wear much better now but keeping an eye on it.

To Padabloke, don`t be led astry, this wear is down to the camber angle, if the tracking on your car had never been adjusted, and you experienced no `wondering`, then you like me are eating the inner edge every 6-8,000 miles.

This flags up a prob. I`m chasing this acively, & will post reults. By the way some Netherlands dealers are meeting 50% of tyre replacements,--WHY if there`s no problem?

I am in two threads about this now, as are you I think! Cheers for that. Will be interested in the outcome and whether there is a way of adjusting the camber angle (beyond the limits of my mechanical knowledge here.) Would willingly have my car available for inspection if it helps you at all and you can quote my problems to Fiat as well if you like. Anything that might help.

However, I do not have a full Fiat service history.

What can I or the forum do to helpyou pursue this matter?

Update just a few minutes after posting this. Just e-mailed Fiat customer Services with an enquiry about excessive tyre wear on the front of Multi's. Didn't mention I was aware of a problem. Will see the response......

We have had the same problems with our 02 Multipla since we had it at 6 months old. If anyone finds a solution please let me know as my husband is a taxi driver and we get through more tyers than diesel....

To ALL those who are having `TYRE WEAR` to their Multiplas, don`t just post threads: TELL Fiat!

Here are some contact details: Fiat House, 240 Bath Rd, Slough, SL1 4DX.

(Italy) Fiat Auto Spa, Corso Agnelli 200, 10135 Turin.

Free phone: 00800 3428 0000. Two e-mails: [email protected]

[email protected].

DO contact Fiat with this issue, each time I talk to them they deny any problem!

You can contact them via their web site too. Get them to raise a case number, I am making steady progress, but the more the merrier!

Yours Ruggero Cordani.
