Playing with the idea of signing up to the MBA.

Like the idea of gaining some new skills in painting, house maintenance, carrying bags of sand for miles and reckon it would be a good way to escape from the 'real world' at the weekends.

I know Martyn might be interested in this, anyone else any thoughts?

There is a meeting tomorrow I'm going to head on over to. Martyn's busy doing FiaSco related things but I'll let yous know how I get on and what's the craic.

Was good, was going to post up last night but was shattered by time we got home so just hit the hay.

Gemma came out with me in the end which was awesome since it was a 3 mile walk in but we still managed it in just over an hour. There were about 15 folk at the meeting plus us and 4 dogs. Each person was in charge of one or more bothies and they went over what work was needing done in the up coming year and in some cases longer scale plans. They sorted out the budget with estimates on the cost of the work and there was also talk of what they could and couldn't do in places, problems caused by new Health and Safety legislation and the likelihood of support from the estates.

It might sound pretty dull but it was actually pretty interesting and all fairly light hearted and banterful (For example when one member asked what was the issue of going up to a bothy and using his mates tool and was promptly told that what he got upto in the bothies at the weekend with his mates tool was his business!)

They are really needing more skilled workers, joiners, roofers and the like, but there is always a need for carriers, painters and tea makers so I reckon we'd all fit in quite nicely.

Definitely going to get myself along to a work party soon.
