going to be moting the tipo this month or the month after that, but it needs a cat and welding and the battery holding in place and a couple of bulbs that im aware of, when you take your 2.0 tipos for an mot what do they usally fail on, my 1.4 has always passed it mot, i dont want to spend £200 geting it ready for its mot, and than it will fail and it will be worth nothing, ive drove it up and down the drive (like a big kid) a couple of times making sure brakes work etc, i let it go upto 90 degres, and the fan all works, in the winter ive came to start it after a week and it fires up 1st time,

i bought a cat for it, and the end that joins to the flexi pipe the flange was to big to join to the flexi pipe,

my car is a 1995 and, there is a cat for sale on ebay and it says it only goes up to 1993, but its the right cat for mine, could my tipo have a 1993 exhaust system on it.

Key failings for the Sedici are usually suspension, steering componants, handbrake, and blowing manifolds as they tend to crack. Also check for corrosion generaly but espacially behind the front struts where there is now arch liner - a hole here is within the mot failure distance rules from the suspension mounting.

Re your catylist question even if it has the wrong flang a new one can always be welded on.

If you are unsure about your MOt why don't you ask someone in the know to give the car an "MOT once over" or even pay and let it fail. Ok its £50 but at least you have a definative list to work from. Better that than spending £000's only to still only have a "scrapper" at the end of the day.

Hi mate, don't know if you are still after other peeps experiences but late last year mine failed on front suspension parts incl a wishbone, but surprisingly cheap to get sorted out. Oh, and bulbs.

Year before 2007 it needed about 150 quids worth of welding and bulbs. F***in bulbs do my head in, they're all out again already.

I don't know if I missed your point mate, but I pay for various repairs during the year too, including - just had an exhaust section replaced that was 150 quid, last year had a thermostat replaced, that was nearly 170 quid, then a fuel pump relay - that was about 100 quid plus a massive removal headache, .... but my next door neighbour is paying 300 quid a month for last 3 years and next 2 years for a 2002 Rav4 they use for a 1 mile journey to and from work in each day. I've already spent more on my car than I paid for it. I paid 380 quid off ebay for my Tipo! The only thing that is going to make me get rid of this is if it's stolen and written off, or serious collision damage. I just save up before the MOT!
